I have webbed toes on both feet, 2nd and 3rd toes, about halfway to three-quarter way. I also am gay and knew so from an early age. Because of these two traits I was always ashamed as a child, felt like I was abnormal. Well guess what? I am!!! and BFD. The Creator made me this way and as such I am whole, perfect and complete just as I am. I am intrigued by the notion that there is a connection to "genious" and webbed toes, because I certainly was considered genious and a prodigy when I was a child. I only wish I hadn't felt so ashamed about it, that my parents would have done something to make me proud of who I am. As a result, I have never lived up to my potential; I am extremely talented and yet I hide these talents (singing, art, writing) or neglect them and I think that it all boils down to this: if I sold my screenplay, if I became a famous musician, then the spotlight would be on me, and eventually the fact that I have webbed toes would come to light and I would be made fun of. Well BS. I am now in my 40s, and I definitely believe I am a unique manifestation of the Divine Source. Lastly, as an X-Man fan, I LOVE the idea of being a mutant. It signifies the next step in human evolution, a better, more progressive direction for our species. That's all for now.

I have webbed toes (the 2nd and 3rd, halfway), as does my mum and her mum. but apart from that no one in the family was ever heard to have it.
I used to feel quite embarrased about it, my older sister certainly didnt help! she used to tell me that they looked discusting and that she would help me cut them apart, because she loved me off course....lol!! i dont think she would have ever seriously "helped me" even those times when she was holding scissors a centimeter away!!
i remember my parents and other relatives would call me "paluszek" which is polish for finger/toe because they thought it was so cute :)
I really quite like them now, i think they make me who i am theyre a part of me. I dont know anyone else with webbed toes, and everyone whos seen mine, have usually never even heard of it before!
I hope at least one of my children have it, i think its cute and id feel like its that special part of me that ive passed on to them.
theres so many people in this blurb though! kinda makes u realise, if the statistic about "1 in 2000 people have it" is true.....there are a LOT of people!!
Love ur webbed toes! they rock!! :D

Wow. I am really amazed at the number of people with this trait. I was born with complete webbing of the 2nd and 3rd toes and fingers. My parents opted for "corrective surgery" of my hands when I was 3. That was in 1975 and was a big mistake. My webbed fingers looked much more "normal" than the scarred partially webbed result of surgery. My parents didn't have my toes cut and it's never been a problem. I have a 14 year old daughter with partial webbing of the 2nd and 3rd toes and my 3 month old son has no webbing. Strangely he does have a small hole just infront and above his left ear which the pediatrician says is a gill arch. I've done a little research into both syndactyly and prenatal arches since then and find it interesting that both are believed to result from the failure of apoptosis or programmed cell death during gestation. Anyway food for thought.

peace and God bless,

Well, people might want to have them seperated because they'd feel better afterwards. It's there business, so I don't think others should be judging their decisions. I respect both people who don't feel the need to seperate webbed toes, or do feel the need.

Just my two cents.

hey guys i also have joined toes on my 2nd and third of both feet. u can buy clips that make them look split when your wearing sandals. if not go to birkenstock thay have a fantastic range of semi closed toe sandals which cover them somewhat.
do not cut them
god gave them to so few of us as an instant membership to that great nightclub upstairs
if u lose them he wont remember you. note: none of the worlds tyrants, dictators. hitmen, assassins or evil men have ever been recorded to have webbed toes.
it is said that john the baptist had his second and third of both feet joined.
ps; look how many people are in this blurb. i thought until now i was the only one, yep im keeping them!!!!

ive read so many posts about how webbed toes from the american indian heritage. wether or not thats true , i dont know. i myself come from a line of cherokee indian tribe and i have webbed toes. wether or not it is because of that is debatable. but in any case, it is a genetic abnormality that my mother and fther and grandmother taught me to be proud of. for i have webbed toes as well as my grandmother who did , along with her twin sister, and my great mother. ive been told it runs every other generation of that chance happening, but in our case its beem three generations straight. im rpoud of my abnormality becasue i was taught from being young to show them off and tell others i have something you dont. and the response usually is wow. so be proud of them an show them off, for you are uniquely different.

I have partailly joined toes on my left foot and love my webbies! The only people who have ever noticed them without help have been ladies giving me a pedicure. They never say anything but I do get annoyed when they try to jam cotton or tissue btw. my 2nd and 3rd toe before painting! Otherwise, I love showing them to people and freaking them out a little bit. My dad also had webbies and I was told they are an Irish genetic trait. No idea if that is true, but it's what I've always said. I also tell people I swim really well, in circles that is (as right foot is web-free). If you say this just after pointing them out, you beat 'em to the punch line and everyone laughs. My fiance also loves my webbed toes and is always happy to give me a foot rub!
