Service Pinger

The other day, I updated my Service Pinger to include two new services, BlogRolling and BlogStreet, at the suggestion of Guy Robert Vestal from The BlogHunter.

I also renamed it from XML-RPC Service Pinger” to “Blog Service Pinger”, since three of the eight services listed aren’t actually using XML-RPC.

    hi there,

    love your service pinger!

    two suggestions/requests, if i may:

    1) could you possibly have something like the Technorati Ping-Site Form at
    http://www.technorati.com/ping.html
that once filled out AND Submited, provides you (me in this case ;) , with the link
    http://www.technorati.com/ping.html?name=from+the+terminal+of+Geoff+Goodfellow&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.livejournal.com%2Fusers%2Fa2gsg%2F
that i can add to my browser favorites thereby saving from having to fill out the weblog name and url fields each time i want to update ping. (in your case i’d hope the automagical url also would remember what Services to Ping i had previously selected).

    2) would you consider adding euro.weblogs.com to your comprehensive list of Services to Ping? its magic address is
    http://rcs.datashed.net/RPC2

    thanks!

    with kind prague regards,
    geoff

It seems like the pinger isn’t working right for me anymore. Now it gets up to Blo.gs fine, and then says “PubSub results:” and the page is truncated.

  3. Dougal says:

Looks like BlogChatter (AKA PubSub) is busted. I’ve disabled that one until I get a chance to investigate it. Pings to blo.gs are supposed to be mirrored on BlogChatter anyhow.
