The War on Spam is Heating Up Again

One of my other web sites is called The War on Spam. Over the past few months, I just hadn’t had time to update it. I’d run across links that I wanted to post, but I just couldn’t take time out to write up editorial commentary to go along with them. So I’m giving up. Sort of.

So, I’ve automated things a bit. You might notice that there are a ton of new postings. These were automagically imported from various RSS feeds, thanks to the magic of LaughingMeme’s WordPress RSS Aggregator. The server will now check several sites on an hourly basis, and post links to new articles here.

Hurray for automation :)

Whats the point in posting a comment if there is no benefit to the commentator? Theres no such thing as spam, only people trying to get found under a mountain of rubbish that search engines insist on indexing. Give me a link, play by the search engine rules!

I’ve always thought the point was to participate in the online conversation. I have no obligation to ‘give’ anyone anything, which is why I am leaving your comment be removing the link.

Oh, and that ‘mountain of rubbish’ you complain about? It’s mostly composed of the spam that you claim doesn’t exist.
