Google Sightseeing

Stumble It!

Google Sightseeing is an index of interesting sites (sights?) around the world, as seen by the satellites that Google Maps uses. For example, places like The Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, or the St. Louis Arch.

Oh yeah, and did I mention that the site is running WordPress?

  1. glicht. Neben Wahrzeichen wie der Golden Gate Bridge sieht man nämlich auch Fundstücke wie etwa das Satellitenfoto eines Supertankers oder sogar einen besonders hochfliegenden Vogelschwarm. Wow! (via Geek Ramblings )

    Yes, but my dear husband, they don’t have the Boll Weevil
    Monument
    from our very own hometown of Enterprise, Alabama. The only monument in the world dedicated to a bug, need I remind you. I also didn’t find the statue of Vulcan, from Birmingham, Alabama, so you can’t even see the man in his metal skirt! (At least not on Google Sightseeing, anyway.) Sheesh!
