Analytics360 Plugin for WordPress

WordPressLast week, I linked to a video showing a preview of the analytics plugin for WordPress that MailChimp commissioned from Crowd Favorite. A lot of people were interested in it, so they’ll be happy to learn that I just got the word that the Analytics360 Plugin for Wordpress is now available to all.

I’ve installed it here, and since I’ve already been gathering Google Analytics stats on this site, it immediately showed me my current activity. [...]

I’m a statistic

Take the MIT Weblog Survey

I’ve participated in an online blogging survey being conducted by the Media Lab at MIT. Actually, it’s about more than just blogging, as the questions also cover use of email, instant messaging, and texting (cell phone SMS).

Blogs of the Day

I meant to mention this previously, but Blogs of the Day is the latest link popularity site. It’s rather nifty in that it ranks sites and articles based on actual readership, and in the fact that it’s an opt-in system. It also only keeps statistics for 24 hours, in keeping with the ephemeral nature of popularity on the internet. Various lists are provided, including Top Posts in the last 24 hours, the BuzzList (most popular in the last hour), Strongest (posts which have remained in the statistics the longest), and Weakest (posts which will fall out of the 24 hour window if not visited soon), among others. [...]

Reinvigorate me

In less than 90 minutes, reinvigorate.net will start accepting signups for the closed beta soft re-launch of their web site stats system. On the one hand, I don’t obsess too much over my stats. But I do like keeping a finger on the pulse of my site. I want to know if my readership is waxing or waning. I want to know what my most popular posts are. I want to know where my hits are coming from.

So, I’ve used a couple of different stats packages over the last few years. I have analog installed on my web server, and I have a cron job that updates stats for several of my sites, daily. [...]
