Hi:
A little history about myself. I was born with syndactyly to my hands and feet. My hands were webbed except for my thumbs. I did have an extra digit coming off of my pinky finger on both hands but they were snipped right after I was born. After multiple surgeries I had my fingers seperated so that I would be able to be a "typical" person. As for my toes I have six on each foot (five toes look funny to me) and they are all webbed as well. Yes I have trouble with ingrown toe nails and finding wide enough shoes. Other than that I have had no issues with me feet and I do not plan to have any surgery done to them.
the question I have is my great aunt had thumbs that were permentantly turned 90 degrees after the first knuckle.(put your hands on the table and imagine your thumb nail turned 90 degrees away from your fingers at the closest knuckle to your thumb nail)
Can anyone give me a direction on where to look in depth on this issue and to see if it is related to syndactyly
Thanks
Also if you have any question s from someone that has been through these surgeries please feel free to ask me any question you have.
