Web Collaboration: The IT Kitchen

Shelley Powers is organizing a fun experiment in collaboration, called the IT Kitchen (in addition to the wiki, there is also an IT Kitchen Blog).

The basic idea is that volunteers will sign up to write about certain topics on certain days, all based around the idea of creating a resource for learning more about blogging. At the end of two weeks, the result should be a detailed set of essays and resources.

I’m hoping that I’ll be able to find time to participate at least a little bit. If nothing else, I could write about how Matt and I manipulated the power laws of the blogosphere to jump-start the launch of Ping-O-Matic. Before our launch, my blog pinger was getting about 1500 hits a day. Now, Ping-O-Matic sends out nearly 200,000 pings per day.
